Extortion charges dropped against Javed Akhtar

A Mumbai court while issuing summons to lyricist Javed Akhtar in a case filed by actor Kangana Ranaut has held that there was sufficient ground to proceed against him for the offence of criminal intimidation. However, no case is made out against him on charges of extortion, the court said.
